A few rad reviews.

Today I ventured over to the Woodbury area where I stopped into three consignment/thrift stores I had never been to. Here’s my take on each of them:

First off – Upscale Consignment Outlet. What was great about this particular little store was that nothing was priced over $10. The majority of items were marked $3, $5, or $10. A few things to know about the store – they take cash only and all the actual consigning takes place at their other non-outlet locations (Inver Grove Heights, St. Louis Park, and Woodbury). By the end of my perusing, I had snagged a United Colors of Benetton blazer for $2.50 and an Old Navy tank top for $3. *My review – I would say this store is a hit-or-miss but would visit again and recommend it to others. http://www.upscaleconsignmn.com/

Second stop – Clothes Mentor (a women’s resale store with 9 locations in MN). This was one of the better consignment shops I’ve been to when it comes to name brands, organization and overall selection. All items were arranged by size, color, and type. The only downside – because it is an upscale consignment shop, the prices were much higher than you would find at your average joe thrift store. Most tops ranged from $7 – $14 and pants $10 – $25. However, I have never seen a consignment shop with as many brand new and brand name items as this one. I came across several pieces of apparel that still had their tags attached (including Michael Kors, Banana Republic and Ann Taylor). I left with nothing but was satisfied with my overall experience. *My review – it was very chic, clean, and organized but because of the higher prices, I will only be back if I am in need of a specific item. http://www.clothesmentor.com/

Lastly – Woodbury Goodwill. While I have been to several Goodwill stores, I had never been to the Woodbury location.  In the end of this trip – I was impressed. Although one thing I have never liked about Goodwill in general is how they organize all their clothing by color and style, but not by size, making your shopping trip a lot longer than it needs to be. Nonetheless, I walked away with a loot of good deals (it also didn’t hurt that they had a 50% green tag sale going on). Here’s what I got: a Gap wool blazer for $2.99, a pair of Gap flats for $4.99, a pair of Banana Republic genuine leather gloves for $3.49, a pair of Gap khakis for $1.99 and a Richard Chai (for Target) skirt for $2.99. *My review – based on all of my great finds, I will definitely be visiting that location again. There is something for everyone there and I would recommend it to anyone looking for an awesome find! http://www.goodwilleasterseals.org/site/PageServer
